2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R vs. Ram 1500 TRX

There’s a heavy-weight duel on the road, and it’s exciting news for pickup truck fans. In this article, we’ll compare the classics Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 in their new versions. If you’re planning to buy a new heavy-duty vehicle, read our Ford Raptor vs. Ram TRX review first. Here, you’ll find concise information about trims, specs, and prices for both lineups.

Performance and Driveability

Both pickups are almost equally powerful. The new Ford F-150 comes with a Supercharged 5.2L V8 engine, capable of 700 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Ram TRX has a Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8, which is slightly more powerful. It delivers 702 hp, 650 lb-ft, and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

As for towing capacity, the Ford F-150 has a slight edge over the competition. The F-150 can handle a payload of up to 635kg, with a towing capacity of 3,946kg. Meanwhile, the new Ram TRX has 594kg of maximum payload and towing capacity of 3,674kg. None of the carmakers has yet released official information regarding fuel efficiency.

Interior and Exterior

Interior and Exterior

Both vehicles are pretty spacious and have seats for up to five passengers. The previous versions of the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 TRX had luxurious interior features, including adjustable and heated seats, high-end upholstery, panels, and so on. We can expect the same level of sophistication, if not more, for the new models.

As for exterior features, both options have impressive figures. It’s pretty difficult to tell the difference in size from the outside, but numbers differ slightly. The F-150 has 5,908mm of length, 2,209mm of width, 2,047mm of height, and 3,693mm of wheelbase. The Ram TRX has 5,915mm, 2,235mm, 2,054mm, and 3,685mm, respectively.

Regardless of your choice, you’ll be treated with a 30.48cm touchscreen display and mobile compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. While the Ford comes with a Sync 4 system, the Ram goes for Uconnect.

Additionally, both models are packed with driving assists, like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring, among others. Ford’s previous version brought a Co-Pilot 360 suite, and we can expect the same for this year.

Prices

Prices

There’s still no information about pricing on the official websites. Still, the new Ford F-150 is expected to come with a considerably higher price tag. We expect a starting price of about $110,000 for the F-150, while the new Ram 1500 TRX should cost about $80,000. The new Ram can cross the six-figure mark, including its most luxurious specs. Both models will be released later this year.
