With this pack, the Lighting can tow up to 10,000 pounds and has a payload capacity of around 2,000 pounds. That is a more impressive towing capacity than most gas-powered pickup trucks have.
Less Expensive to Maintain
If you own a gas-powered pickup truck, you know that they require regular maintenance procedures, like oil changes. The Lighting's all-electric motor has a more simplistic design than gas-powered motors. This means that there is less required maintenance, which will save you hundreds - if not thousands - of dollars each year. Electricity When You Need It
If you have a power outage at home, there is no need to worry about the Lighting parked in your garage. The Lighting comes equipped with an Intelligent Backup Power system that can supply power to a home for up to three days when the battery is fully charged. If you ration how much power you use, you may be able to power the home for a week or more.
The Lighting also features an available ProPower Onboard system that comes with ten different 120-volt power outlets; two of the outlets are located in the cab, four are in the front trunk, and more are located in the bed of the truck. There is also a 240-volt/30-amp outlet in the bed as well. With this many outlets, you can plug in a tool, appliance, or other equipment that you may need. Your truck will be able to act as a portable generator.
